Our story

A Singaporean-owned salon, looking after Singapore since 2014.

Lushkara began as a small neighbourhood salon in Tampines, founded on the belief that good beauty care — threading, henna, facials, head massage — deserved to be done with patience and dignity, at a fair price, for everyone who walks in.

Lushkara Beauty

Our philosophy

We recommend only what suits your skin and hair — never more. If a service isn't right for you, we'll say so.

We use safe, gentle products and single-use tools where it matters. Our therapists are trained to be unhurried and warm.

Beauty should be accessible. Our pricing is transparent and our packages are designed for real lives — not for upsells.

Our History

A family story, told in chapters.

A timeline of patience, growth, and the pursuit of quiet perfection.

  1. 2013

    The Conversation

Lushkara was born over a conversation between Neelu, her sister-in-law, and her younger sister. They agreed Singapore's heartland salons weren't good enough for their neighbours. Neelu's sister coined the name; based overseas, she couldn't join in running it. Neelu and her sister-in-law took it forward together.

  2. 2014

    Tampines Opens

The first outlet opened in Tampines and built a regular following. The two founders brought complementary instincts — Neelu from a career in logistics operations, her co-founder from Singapore Airlines, where good service was simply the job.

  3. 2019

    Jurong & COVID

A second salon opened in Jurong in November. Within months, COVID shutdowns forced it to close in its first month of operation. The founders carried the full year's lease — a hard financial hit — and the Tampines outlet kept the business alive.

  4. 2021

    New Generation

Neelu's co-founder stepped back to spend more time with her young sons. The next generation joined as joint business partners — Neelu's nephew and niece, both with backgrounds in business and finance. Together they spent the next two years steadying the business.

  5. 2023

    Back to Two

A new outlet opened at Le Quest Mall in Bukit Batok West, bringing Lushkara back to two locations.

  6. ActiveToday

  7. Next

    Vision for Tomorrow

Two new directions. Beauty product distribution, building on a decade of knowing what salons need. And a beauty platform company for the wider Singapore salon industry. Neelu's brother — a 22-year technology veteran — is leading the advisory on the development of the platform.
